Similar to Polyspora speciosa, this large camellia native to southwestern China and northern Vietnam has superb, glossy, extensive foliage, as well as enormous white camellia flowers, usually 10 to 15 cm in diameter, with a heart of golden-yellow stamens.

  • ORIGIN: Native to Southeast Asia (Vietnam, China)
  • CLIMATE: The plant can withstand temperatures down to -10°C. Hardy in most of the UK, except for inland valleys, higher elevations, and the central and northern regions. May suffer foliage damage and stem dieback in harsh winters in cold gardens.
